The Got Math? Program

The Got Math? Program is a before school program for 4^th graders designed to put the FUN in math and science.  The location of the program rotates each year to a different elementary school.  Students are exposed to advanced topics by presentations from local business, Berkshire Community College faculty, elementary school teachers and BCC Service Learning students.  For example, in the Math of Farming component, Bartlett’s Apple Orchard did a presentation on probability in which students graphed the probability of picking different varieties of apples out of a bag.  Apex Engineering also participated in a Math of Plastics component and Crane & Co., Inc. participated in a Math of Paper component.   The BATC will be working with BCC to secure funding so that this program may be continued.
